Live Trax Vol. 5: 8.23.95 - Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills, MI
When you went to pre-order this show on the day of the announcement (March 29, 2006), the show advertised in the graphics in the store was 8.31.1995. When clicking into the pre-order, it showed the correct show's description and tracklisting. While it could be guessed that the selection of the show might have changed, reportedly the date was originally mistyped as 8.31 in the graphic, then the venue was added from looking up the incorrect date. The incorrect graphic was fixed the next day.

The original release date was May 19, 2006 and was pushed a week to May 26, 2006.

Limited edition # out of 2000 pressed onto pink vinyl was released on November 27, 2015 for Record Store Day.

It was made available for order on black vinyl through the Warehouse store on December 9, 2015. On some early versions, side C label is applied to both sides of LP 2.

Official Original DMB Release Notes:
8.23.1995 Meadow Brook Music Festival, Rochester Hills, MI is the fifth release in the DMB Live Trax series. 8.23.1995 took place during the tour for Under the Table and Dreaming, DMB’s first release on RCA Records. Dave Matthews Band was just beginning to move from playing smaller clubs and theatres to playing larger amphitheatre settings.

8.23.1995 Meadow Brook Music Festival is another crew favorite. David Ryan Harris, guitarist for Dionne Farris’ band, performed with DMB during six songs of the concert. Rhyme and Reason is a notable song featuring David Ryan Harris harmonizing on guitar with the violin and saxophone parts of the song. A twelve minute Exodus, played rarely in DMB history, was also a highlight of this show. Jimi Thing is also exceptional at fifteen minutes. The encore begins with a soulful solo performance of Typical Situation by Dave Matthews and then explodes into All Along the Watchtower also featuring David Ryan Harris.

The 8.23.1995 concert is available as a 2-CD set and as a digital download in MP3 and FLAC formats. Click here to preorder 8.23.1995 Meadow Brook Music Festival, Rochester Hills, MI.

The color hex code for the Live Trax Vol. 5 ribbon is #9d134e.
