Dave and Harry Belafonte were the Distinguished Co-chairs at this event celebrating the previous day's retirement of Julian Bond. Bond was a civil rights activist, history professor at UVa, and NAACP chairman. He introduced DMB and The Roots when they performed together at the NAACP awards on 3.6.04.
